چکیده

Abstract: Aim: Berberine hydrochloride is a Traditional Chinese Medicine component with antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and lowering blood sugar effects. However, the application of berberine has been hindered for long time due to its poor solubility low bioavailability. This study aims design liposomes-gel enhance bioavailability activity hydrochloride. Materials Methods: The thin-film dispersion hydration method was used prepare liposomes, prepared by natural swelling using sodium alginate as hydrogel matrix. hydrochloride-loaded characterized encapsulation efficiency, particle size, potential, transmission electron microscopy, studied in vitro release preparations. Results: results revealed efficiency liposomes 79.62±4.20% mean size 153.7±11.2 nm. from conformed first-order model. scavenging rate DPPH free radicals H2O2 exceeds 70%. Conclusion: sustained-release effect on hin vitroad good properties measuring ability radicals, lipid peroxidation resistance. Keywords: hydrochloride, Liposomes, Sodium alginate, Hydrogel, Antioxidant.

Preparation, characterization and evaluation of ranitidine hydrochloride-loaded mucoadhesive microspheres.

BACKGROUND Mucoadhesion enables localization of drugs to a defined region of the gastrointestinal tract through attractive interactions between polymers composing the drug delivery devices and the mucin layer of the intestinal epithelium. Thus, this approach can be used for enhancement of the oral bioavailability of the drug. OBJECTIVES The current communication deals with the development of ...

Preparation, Characterization, and Antioxidant Activity Evaluation of Liposomes Containing Water-Soluble Hydroxytyrosol from Olive.

Due to the multiple hydroxyl groups in its structure, hydroxytyrosol (HT) is very sensitive to air and light and has very strong instability and hydrophilicity that affect its biological activity. This study attempted to prepare liposomes containing water-soluble HT to improve the bioavailability and biocompatibility of the target drug. The preparation process factors (temperature, mass ratio o...

Evaluation of a 13-hexyl-berberine hydrochloride topical gel formulation.

13-hexyl-berberine hydrochloride (HB-13) is a derivative from berberine which finds widespread applications in the treatment of infectious pathogens including fungi, bacteria, parasites and viruses. As our continuing efforts for treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV), we studied the topical delivery and safety of HB-13 in a gel formulation (0.5%) in a pig model. Our studies demonstrated the ma...

Preparation, pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of baicalin-loaded liposomes

Baicalin (BA) is a major constituent of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, a medicinal herb. Previous pharmacokinetic studies of BA showed its low oral bioavailability. The aim of the present study was to develop a novel BA-loaded liposome (BA-LP) to enhance oral bioavailability. BA-LP, composed of BA, Tween(®) 80, Phospholipon(®) 90H, and citric acid at weight ratio of 96/50/96/50, respectively, ...
